Overview

WAZER is seeking a Hardware Support Engineer to provide hardware support for their desktop waterjet machines. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues and improving support systems while ensuring a great user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues remotely via email, phone, and video calls.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues.
  • Provide first level support for the Reseller Network.
  • Deescalate sensitive situations with users.
  • Document user problems and actions taken to solve them.
  • Work with Product Development engineers to develop solutions.
  • Create proactive web support content for common issues.
  • Manage and optimize support systems for quality and response times.
  • Maintain an inventory of replacement parts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical support or field service role with complex hardware.
  • Comfortable communicating with non-technical users.
  • Technical proficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in mechanical assembly and electronics troubleshooting.
  • Desire to understand the root cause of problems.
  • Well-organized and able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with 2D CAD.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects alone and with assistance.
  • Ability to commute to Yonkers, NY.
  • Willingness to get hands dirty.
