Overview

NYU Langone Health is a fully integrated health system known for its high-quality patient care and low mortality rates. They are seeking a Plumber Mechanic to perform plumbing duties and maintain various plumbing systems within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, install, repair and replace pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures.
  • Maintain steam and gas systems as well as plumbing systems.
  • Inspect connections and parts for leaks.
  • Replace defective pipes by cutting, bending, threading and assembling.
  • Solder, braze and caulk leaks and broken pipes.
  • Open clogged drains using plumbing tools.
  • Repair or replace damaged plumbing fixtures.
  • Troubleshoot and install steam systems and connections.
  • Maintain plumbing natural and medical gas systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair medical gas outlets.
  • Operate various plumbing tools and machinery.
  • Maintain job records and submit work orders.
  • Estimate materials needed for work orders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Five years of experience in plumbing.
  • Trade or vocational school graduation reduces experience requirement to four years.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
