Overview

At Bombardier, we design, build and maintain the world’s peak-performing aircraft, emphasizing employee growth and development. The Methods Engineer role focuses on metrology and manufacturing technology process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and understanding of tool design concepts.
  • Experience with metrology equipment and measurement software, preferably Spatial Analyzer.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong data collection and statistical skills.
  • Develop and document best practices to support manufacturing technology process improvements.
  • Analyze engineering models, GD&T intent, and laser inspection results.
  • Manage daily metrology workflows to enhance efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Perform precision measurements using portable metrology systems and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Assist with test plans, capability assessments, and the introduction of innovative inspection technologies.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Metrology, Methods, Material Planning, or related area.
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Ability to coordinate, control and maintain tooling-related activities and metrology activities.
  • Understanding of tool design concepts, tool design estimates and turnaround times.
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guide their development into the final product.
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and provide technical assistance.
