Overview

The CNC Machine Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers engaged in machine operations, ensuring quality control, and adhering to safety protocols. This role requires collaboration with various teams to meet production goals and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in machine operations, set-up, and maintenance.
  • Set daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
  • Oversee quality control to ensure products meet necessary standards and specifications.
  • Adhere to and enforce safety regulations and protocols to avoid accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and management to meet company-wide production goals.
  • Resolve worker grievances or submit unresolved grievances to higher management.
  • Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes.
  • Monitor productivity and improve machine utilization and OEE.
  • Develop FTP for NPD and prepare work instructions, tool lists, operation sheets, and inspection methodology.
  • Resolve technical issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives for capacity enhancement.
  • Analyze job rejection and take corrective action for non-occurrence and process improvements.
  • Maintain QMS documents for central machine SOP.
  • Achieve First Pass Yield.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Utilize Industry 4.0 TPM-Trak application for productivity monitoring and downtime reduction.
  • Initiate shop floor improvements like 5S, TPM, Lean, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and KPI.

Requirements

  • More than 5 years of experience in CNC programming and setting with tool selection.
  • Hands-on experience in complex valve parts machining on CNC machines, including 5-axis and 4-axis.
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T experience of not less than 3 years.
  • MasterCAM operation and part program generation experience.
  • Experience with metrology tools and processes for part inspection.
  • Familiarity with best practices in TPM, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, VSM, and 5S.
  • Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment.
  • Excellent communication, math skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with MasterCAM, SolidWorks, Edgecam, AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power-BI, and SAP.
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and flexible with a positive customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
