Overview

The DWM Plant Maintenance Mechanic II position involves performing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of plants. This experienced level role requires skills in plumbing, welding, and machinery maintenance, and operates under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams and specifications.
  • Repair and troubleshoot equipment by observing mechanical devices in operation.
  • Conduct performance tests of plant equipment using various measuring instruments.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctioning plant equipment including pumps and motors.
  • Participate in the installation and modification of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
  • Perform pipefitting and repair air, sewer, and hydraulic piping systems.
  • Maintain records on operations, activities, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Interpret drawings and diagrams for wastewater systems.
  • Operate heavy equipment as necessary.
  • Initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment.
