Job Description

Overview

Archaea Energy, a bp company, is a leader in landfill gas to energy and the largest renewable natural gas producer in the US. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for 3D design and technical drawings for landfill gas to energy facilities and RNG skid equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Design LFGTE and RNG BTU skid equipment using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Create or revise accurate SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, P&ID drawings, BOM’s, and other engineering documentation.
  • Perform design calculations for pipe sizes and assist in procurement of mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of ASME Process Piping Design, Materials, Fabrication, and Specifications.
  • Stay updated on the latest codes, standards, and best practices for mechanical safety.
  • Interpret design specifications and prepare project specifications.
  • Prepare BOM, Instrumentation list, and design specs.
  • Collaborate with design team to meet equipment specifications and deadlines.
  • Provide engineering support to operations in design and maintenance areas.
  • Manage drawings/documentation control in PDM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Associates Degree in Mechanical Design.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Experience with Autodesk (or AutoCAD) and SolidWorks.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, ANSI Y14.5.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Pass background check and drug test.
