Overview

Kiewit is seeking Mid Level Mechanical Design Engineers to support its growing Industrial division, focusing on delivering specifications, sizing components, and developing drawings for various industrial facilities. Responsibilities

• Provide design, coordination, and oversight of various mechanical systems for industrial facilities.
• Perform design calculations and equipment specifications for biogas, bulk solids material handling, and wastewater treatment.
• Coordinate and communicate all aspects of the project’s mechanical design within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Review project contracts and incorporate requirements into the design.
• Manage other design partners and review work progress.
• Perform detailed technical bid analyses for equipment.
• Generate deliverables such as PFD’s, P&ID’s, datasheets, and vendor shop drawings.
• Support the construction team by representing the design team on-site.
• Perform early project design work including conceptual studies and preliminary equipment sizing.
• Train, mentor, and advise junior staff on industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred or willing to obtain.
• A minimum of 3 years of industry-related mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with mechanical design for data centers is highly desired.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Preferred experience with AFT Fathom or AFT Arrow hydraulic simulation software.

• Mid level Engineers must be based in Colorado or Kansas offices.
• Senior Engineers can be based near main Kiewit design locations.
• Consideration for fully remote candidates at a Senior level.
