Overview

The Engineer II Mechanical position requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and involves planning, design, procurement, and quality of installation of mechanical systems and equipment, particularly in power plant, process, and heavy industrial design.

Responsibilities

  • Work on planning, design, procurement, and quality of installation of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Complete project specific objectives on time under the direction of the Sr. Mechanical Engineer.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
  • Assist mechanical designers and drafters in developing the structural design of equipment and piping systems using CAD and 3D design software.
  • Research, design, evaluate, and oversee the installation of equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility and operating condition effects.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Present technical information to peers or other personnel for review and to implement operating procedures.
  • Provide technical expertise and training for other personnel within the company and for customers.
