Overview

Standex International is a global industrial growth company that operates through market-leading brands in various sectors, including aerospace and defense. The Check & Straighten Shop Worker will be responsible for correcting and verifying parts to ensure compliance with specified requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Set up parts on pedestals, punch and/or check fixtures.
  • Use prescribed solvents and cleaning agents to remove dirt and foreign objects.
  • Utilize hammers, pneumatic and/or hydraulic tools, gauges, and fixtures as required.
  • Scribe, cut, shear, grind, and deburr parts according to instructions.
  • Perform typical check & straight operations to support the production schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Use pallets and hand carts, and manually lift and carry parts as needed.
  • Participate in on-the-job training as determined by supervisor/manager.

Requirements

  • No experience required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be open to overtime.
  • Six months experience in warehouse production or manufacturing environment is valued.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
  • Ability to be a team player and detail-oriented.
