Overview

SpaceX is developing technologies to enable human life on Mars and is seeking an Industrial Gases Technician to provide support in installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial tank farm equipment related to gas/liquid ground infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ground system technician support for industrial tank farm equipment.
  • Understand and supply industrial packaged gases to production and test consumers.
  • Operate and maintain large facility gas hardware and high-pressure systems.
  • Collaborate with design/build engineers to influence and execute a preventative maintenance plan.
  • Make repairs and additions to pre-existing piping infrastructure.
  • Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, or certifications as required.
  • Follow necessary regulations and SpaceX procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or power and gas role.
  • Associate's degree or equivalency certificate preferred.
  • A&P license preferred.
  • Experience in power and gas, military, aerospace, or other high-reliability environments preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience with machines and general tooling.
  • Experience in process piping installation, especially in stainless steel, CPVC, and cryogenic applications.
  • Experience with high pressure (1,000psi+) gaseous/liquid systems.
  • General knowledge of pressure fitting types.
  • Demonstrated experience in quick-thinking and problem-solving.
  • Experience operating equipment with a PLC or machine interface.
  • Minor acuteness with electrical components and wiring experience is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize power tools, hand tools, and heavy equipment.
  • Use of precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of hazardous systems and pressure system safety protocol.
