Overview

The Pour Finisher is responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete using various hand and power tools. This position emphasizes the importance of quality, safety, and production, grounded in integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Signals concrete truck driver to position vehicle for pouring concrete.
  • Moves discharge chute of truck to direct concrete into forms.
  • Spreads concrete into inaccessible sections of forms with rake or shovel.
  • Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency with handheld screen and floats.
  • Smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete.
  • Finishes concrete surfaces and rubs concrete with abrasive stone.
  • Removes rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces and patches holes.
  • Molds expansion joints and edges.
  • Sprinkles colored stone chips or coloring powder on concrete for finish.
  • Produces rough concrete surface with broom.
  • Mixes cement with hoe or concrete-mixing machine.
  • Directs subgrade work, mixing of concrete, and setting of forms.
  • Breaks up and repairs old concrete surfaces.
  • Operates all equipment and tools required for the job.
  • Maintains equipment and tools for long-lasting use.
