Overview

The Assistant Piping Engineer will support project teams in creating designs for various facilities including power, healthcare, and industrial projects. This role involves assisting in the design process, modifying production drawings, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the piping design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects.
  • Design piping components based on project needs and requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of piping engineering concepts, principles, and codes.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required.
  • Correct and update drawings provided by senior engineers.
  • Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited program required.
  • Or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Civil or related Engineering Technology and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
  • ABET Accredited program strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge in standard piping engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic computer skills in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D Rendering Programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country.
