Overview

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Entry Level Structural Engineer to join their team in Phoenix, AZ. The role involves designing and analyzing various structural systems for bridges on infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations for diverse projects
  • Develop and review structural drawings and specifications using CAD software
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress
  • Prepare technical reports and present findings to project managers and clients
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates
  • Stay updated on industry standards, building codes, and emerging technologies
  • Participate in quality control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Previous internship or professional experience in structural engineering preferred
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Solid understanding of structural design principles and various construction materials
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Excellent mathematical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
