Overview

This position offers the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Structural Engineering while working on the design of new nuclear facilities and modifications. Sargent & Lundy is a leader in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing, committed to safety, innovation, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Team up with engineers and designers from various disciplines for nuclear facility design.
  • Prepare design calculations and develop specifications.
  • Support designers with drawing development.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
  • Conduct structural analyses for loading conditions such as wind and seismic.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 1 or more years of applicable experience, or an MSCE from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Hybrid work schedule requiring in-office work 3 days per week at the Peachtree Corners, GA office.
  • Potential travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and construction coordination.
