Overview

The Structural Welder 1/C position involves production welding on ships or in a shop to support structural repairs and modernization of marine vessels, including US Naval Vessels and Commercial Ships. The role requires layout, fabrication, and repair of metal plates and structural parts according to specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production welding on ships or in a shop.
  • Support structural repairs and modernization of marine vessels.
  • Layout, fabricate, or repair metal plates and structural parts.
  • Brace metal parts in position within the hull of the ship for riveting or welding.
  • Measure, mark, and install metal plates for cutting according to specifications.
  • Use tools such as saws and cutting torches.
