Overview

The Principal NDT Quality Auditor for Structural Steel Fabrication is responsible for planning and executing quality audits and inspections at various facilities and project sites, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and documentation integrity. The role involves significant travel and requires a combination of technical expertise and strong communication skills to identify nonconformities and recommend corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute on-site quality audits and inspections.
  • Assess fabrication processes, workmanship, inspection methods, and quality systems.
  • Examine quality records including inspection logs and corrective actions.
  • Verify conformity of structural steel and related components to requirements.
  • Perform visual examinations and support NDT and coating inspections.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications for compliance.
  • Identify nonconforming conditions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Author detailed reports with evidence and photographs.
  • Lead audit kickoffs and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to inspectors and field personnel.
  • Champion safety and compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Travel frequently to various locations.
