Overview

The Structural Welder position involves performing GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding on structural steel and heavy industrial assemblies. The role requires reading blueprints and operating material-handling equipment while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Perform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding on structural steel and fabricated components.
  • Weld structural parts used in air exchangers, heat transfer equipment, and structural beams.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Utilize power tools, hand tools, cutting equipment, grinders, and welding equipment.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Measure, fit, align, and tack components prior to final welding.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following safety procedures.
  • Work effectively as part of a production team to meet quality and production goals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in structural welding, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts preferred.
  • Ability to safely use power tools, grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Welding certification is a plus but not required.
