Overview

The Welder position involves performing welding operations in the manufacturing process of skylight component parts according to production standards and plans. The role requires a focus on quality, safety, and adherence to production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the set-up and troubleshoots welding machine
  • Tig welds aluminum component parts
  • Reads and follows a daily production plan
  • Performs other duties such as product assembly, inventory, etc.
  • Ensures production, quality and safety standards are met
  • Performs cleaning and maintaining of 5’s practices
  • Performs other assignments as directed by local supervision

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position
  • Welding experience is required; Certification is preferred
  • Understanding of metric and standard measurement systems is required
  • 3-5 years experience in a production environment
  • Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed, with short notice
  • Forklift operator experience preferred
  • Must be able to tig weld aluminum components as thin as .027”
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in hot conditions
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools such as grinders, port-bands, and chop saws
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment demonstrated through a positive quality, safety, attendance and good work history
  • Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies is a requirement of the job

  • Shift Schedule: 1st shift 6:00am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday
