Overview

As an Assembly Technician at Caterpillar Inc., you will be part of a global team focused on creating sustainable communities. The role involves working in a dynamic team environment to install and test mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment according to engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand engineering drawings, work instructions, schematics, and other technical documents.
  • Install and align structural assemblies, gas fuel filters, vessels, and bolted piping systems.
  • Install cable support systems, including tray, conduit, clips, and unistrut.
  • Assist in electrical testing of systems and perform cable forming during installation.
  • Follow documented procedures and standard work to ensure safe and defect-free operations.
  • Assemble and install piping systems, including alignment, leveling, squaring, and bolt-up.
  • Use forklifts, pallet jacks, jib, rigging equipment, and overhead cranes to move work pieces.
  • Cross-train and flex across functions based on development and business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a production environment.
  • Ability to perform simple computer operations.
  • Availability to work 1st and 2nd shift.
  • Ability to work overtime to support production demands.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of Electrical Assembly experience (desired).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of Instrumentation Assembly experience (desired).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of Mechanical Assembly experience (desired).
  • Completion of a technical vocational program (minimum of 9 months) (desired).
  • Knowledge of electrical system and instrumentation installation requirements and techniques (desired).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of Pipe Assembly experience (desired).

Additional Information

  • Candidates must pass background screening and physical/drug/alcohol screening.
  • Candidates must frequently check their email for correspondence regarding the application.
