Overview

GP Strategies Government Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer or Designer/Drafter to join their aerospace team in Chatsworth, CA. This role involves supporting high-impact government missions through technical engineering work focused on aerospace pressure vessels and piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis per ASME Pressure Vessel Code and Piping Code.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Utilize Microsoft Project for project scheduling and tracking.
  • Support procurement, testing, and production in a shop environment.
  • Travel up to 20% for supplier audits, customer meetings, and field support.
  • Lead or participate in design reviews and maintain documentation and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Engineering experience in aerospace, pressure systems, or high-reliability manufacturing.
  • Strong expertise in ASME Pressure Vessel Code and Piping Code requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.
  • Familiarity with common ASNT nondestructive testing methods.
