Overview

D7 Pneumatics LLC is seeking highly skilled and experienced Millwrights with strong welding capabilities to join our maintenance division team for scheduled fall shutdowns. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial machinery across steel mills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, crushers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery.
  • Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) for repairs and fabrication of parts, structures, and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct welding inspections to ensure high-quality, safe work.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with the installation, alignment, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and work in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and management.
  • Apply strong troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical failures and implement effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in steel mills, sawmills, and power plants.
  • Strong welding experience, particularly in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Deep understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
  • Valid driver’s license, Millwright Certification, or equivalent trade qualification required.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and high elevations.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail and precision.
  • Commitment to a safe working environment.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
