Job Description

Overview

The Maintenance Technician position is a 3rd shift role based in Elk Grove Village, IL, focused on repairing and maintaining various types of equipment in a manufacturing environment. The technician will work Monday to Friday from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and/or replace electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using computerized maintenance system.
  • Knowledge of quality, reliability, scrap, and safety goals.
  • Observe all site safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify potential machine, system, and component failures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of spare parts.
  • Operate shop equipment including milling machine, band saw, drill press, lathe, welder, and electrical multimeter.
  • Work together with Process Technicians and Supervisors to resolve technical process issues.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the maintenance work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of 'hands-on' Manufacturing Maintenance experience in Blow Molding/Injection Molding.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance instructions, instruction manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Qualified to perform basic electrical diagnostics and repairs.
  • Good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Working knowledge of plastics and processing in blow molding and injection applications.

Additional Information

  • 3rd shift schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
  • Works in non-climate-controlled production and warehouse operations environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Prolonged periods standing/walking (>90% of the shift).
  • Must wear required PPE in designated areas.
