Overview

Graphic Packaging International is a leading manufacturer of paperboard and paper-based packaging for recognized brands across various sectors. The company is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical & Electrical) to join their Elk Grove Village, IL team, offering competitive pay and a commitment to workplace diversity.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical troubleshooting, installing and repairing all electrical devices within the plant.
  • Performing breakdown repairs, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, etc. on all production equipment.
  • Completing parts requisitions, work orders, and time sheets in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting, replacing, repairing, and rebuilding equipment in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for equipment and building maintenance within both Elk Grove and Westfield facilities.
  • Working independently and on teams while demonstrating safe work practices.
  • Using PLCs for routine troubleshooting.
  • Understanding and completing all associated paperwork.
  • Adhering to preventative/predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Reading and working from mechanical and electrical blueprints.
  • Managing plant shutdown/startups for holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must have working knowledge of basic mechanical fundamentals.
  • Must have experience in identifying basic hand tools.
  • Prior maintenance/electrical experience necessary.
  • Minimum of four years hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of high-speed equipment.
  • Basic working knowledge of machine tools: drill presses, welders, grinders.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of pump repair, motor/shaft alignment, hydraulics, plumbing.
  • HVAC and PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Must be flexible and able to work overtime, other shifts, and weekends when needed.
