Job Description

Overview

Dohrn Transfer is a leading Midwest LTL Carrier providing less-than-truckload, truckload, and value-added services throughout a 10-state service area. They are seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for their Northlake, IL terminal, offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and skilled work for building and grounds maintenance.
  • Conduct arc welding and some fabrication.
  • Manage outdoor grounds maintenance including snow plowing and yard work.
  • Handle indoor repairs and maintenance such as carpentry, electrical work, welding, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Maintain dock facilities including overhead door repair and dock plate replacement.
  • Travel to remote terminal locations as needed, up to 75% of the time.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Facilities maintenance experience in the transportation industry preferred.
  • High level of knowledge and experience with various skilled trades.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Organized and committed to high quality work.
  • Meet the physical requirements of the job.
  • Successfully pass a physical, functional screen, and drug test.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisor.
  • Excellent attendance.

  • Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
