Overview

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 company focused on providing innovative packaging solutions. The Maintenance Technician position at the Chicago Container plant involves performing maintenance tasks to ensure the efficiency and safety of plant equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and replace mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment.
  • Use maintenance knowledge to increase productivity and decrease downtime.
  • Respond urgently to machine downtime events.
  • Complete in-house training programs to develop equipment-specific maintenance skills.
  • Follow all safety and company policies, including lock-out tag-out procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge and experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC systems.
  • Passionate about maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must have own basic tools; PCA provides specialized tools and an annual tool allowance.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Additional Information

  • Location: Chicago Container plant, 5445 W 73rd St. Bedford Park, IL 60638.
  • 1.5 pay over 8 hours, over 40 hours, and on weekends.
  • 1.5 pay on holidays, plus additional overtime on holidays.
