Overview

The Maintenance Tech I position involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment under limited supervision, ensuring production and quality standards are met. The role requires a fundamental understanding of machinery and the ability to document maintenance activities accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and correct issues with out-of-service equipment, acting as an escalation point for lower-level technicians.
  • Document all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and maintain accurate records of operating logs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of major downtime events.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics with tasks requiring two people or when operational needs demand.
  • Perform facility/building project work including light bulb replacement, door repairs, and plumbing repairs.
  • Analyze and record causes of production delays and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes, taking corrective action as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of experience with conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Basic skill level in multiple computer software packages including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and ability to troubleshoot these systems.
  • Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time for business purposes.
  • Ability to frequently move, lift, and carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week.
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights, and work with hands above head.
  • Willingness to operate material handling equipment.
