Johnson Controls is a global leader in thermal management and building systems, focusing on energy efficiency and decarbonization. The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician role involves servicing and repairing sprinkler systems across various applications while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service calls and assess equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/system problems.
  • Perform service and repairs on various sprinkler systems.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals for diagnostics.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals.
  • Exhibit effective customer service by communicating with district staff and customers.
  • Electronically complete Service Acknowledgements and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler/Suppression industry.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and operational manuals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions such as climbing ladders and working in crawl spaces.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain truck inventory for timely customer response.
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving record requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.
  • Must possess and retain current required State Fire Protection License or valid Journeyman License, if applicable.

  • Overnight travel will be required.
