Overview

AF Steel has evolved as Arizona’s premier steel fabricator and erector, recognized for its innovation and forward-thinking mindset. The company is hiring experienced Structural Steel Fitters and Welders for light to heavy structural steel fabrication for the 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate welding tools and equipment according to the parameters listed in the welding procedure specification (WPS)
  • Carry out post-welding treatment of structures by cleaning
  • Inspect and evaluate welds to ensure they are free of defect and conform to set specifications
  • Employ appropriate welding methods in completing structural fabrications
  • Operate cranes
  • Set equipment to weld in vertical, horizontal, flat or overhead positions
  • Read, understand and interpret blueprints for structural steel and fabrication
  • Install all required components per drawing in a timely manner
  • Read and understand weld symbols
  • Follow welding procedures
  • Adhere to company and jobsite safety guidelines, procedures and policies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience welding, fabricating or fitting in a shop environment
