Job Description

Overview

This position is for a Manufacturing Technician in Phoenix, AZ, focusing on providing technical support in the development and production of military soft goods. The role is open to military-affiliated job seekers and requires on-site work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of aircraft and military vehicle seating upholstery and cushions.
  • Train Production department leads in the operation of various industrial sewing machines.
  • Establish time standards.
  • Develop flat patterns and templates for soft goods.
  • Work with quality to resolve production issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings as they pertain to sewing.
  • Develop processes for cutting and bonding non-rigid polyurethane foams.
  • Program fabric cutters and sewing machines.

Requirements

  • High School/GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Sewing knowledge.
  • Familiarity with military standards for sewing materials.
  • Experience in manufacturing using contact adhesives.
  • Programming lasers and CNC fabric cutters using CAD software.
  • Experience building and maintaining tooling.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and adjust machine parameters.
  • Experience setting up and operating industrial sewing machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
