Overview

The Structures Technician position requires aerospace experience and involves tasks related to the bonding and assembly processes in spaceship airframe production, including setup of assembly fixturing and fastener installation. The role emphasizes accountability and collaboration to meet project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble composite parts and assemblies of varying complexities and sizes.
  • Utilize shop tools and machinery safely and correctly, including drills and die grinders.
  • Drill a variety of hole sizes in both composite and metal structures.
  • Work hands-on with multiple fastener types including Hi-Lite and Hi-Lok.
  • Provide input on technical and operational knowledge for assessment and repair recommendations.
  • Adhere to set directions and guidelines from team leaders to support collaboration.
  • Work on moderately difficult manufacturing assignments requiring judgment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with aircraft fabrication and assembly required.
  • Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
  • Understanding and familiarity with multiple types of fasteners.
  • Knowledge of proper drill speeds and feeds for materials being worked.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and/or models.
