Overview

Corning is a leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science, seeking a Production Maintenance Associate I to perform entry-level maintenance and repair of production equipment. This role offers opportunities for individuals interested in strengthening their maintenance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform entry-level duties in the preventative maintenance and repair of production equipment.
  • Read and understand low complexity electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and machine repair manuals.
  • Troubleshoot and make necessary repairs on low complexity jobs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks for production machinery and auxiliary equipment.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians in breakdown repairs during production.
  • Support plant-wide initiatives on TPM goals.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and support department 5S goals.
  • Complete all maintenance-related paperwork.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards in the work area.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a production environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Understanding of basic electrical circuits and HVAC systems.
  • General knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • General knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, welding, and other facilities-related skills.
