Overview

The Sr. Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical and hydraulic components on production machines and equipment, including printing presses and boilers. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work in a controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunction.
• Dismantles machines and equipment to gain access to problem areas.
• Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
• Removes and replaces worn or defective parts or drive mechanisms.
• Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches.
• Locates damaged air and hydraulic pipes and installs new pipe.
• Starts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
• Repairs broken parts and works with operators to ensure corrective actions.
• Assists product and process engineers to modify designs of machine components.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience Level I: 0 – 4 years, Level II: 5+ years.
• Strong technical and mechanical skills including pneumatics and electrical controls.
• Experience with electronic and information systems including network communications.

• Employee is required to stand, bend, kneel, walk, sit, balance, handle or feel objects.
• Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment.
• Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts.
• Various levels of gowning are required.
• Hearing protection recommended.
• Ability to travel (US and internationally).
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
