Overview

The Welder B position at Hanwha Philly Shipyard involves performing various welding tasks in a heavy shipyard environment while adhering to safety procedures and quality standards. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding processes and the ability to work in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in heavy shipyard construction welding using approved WPS.
  • Perform various welding processes including FCAW, SMAC, SAW, EGW, and automated welding.
  • Pad and prepare weld joints per WPS.
  • Conduct internal quality checks of own work to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain individual NDT rejection set by Hanwha Philly Shipyard and classification society.
  • Train and instruct lesser skilled welders as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of work experience in welding, with a preference for flux core and ceramic.
  • Knowledge of welding robotics and programming is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work in different environments and conditions.
