Overview

Firefly Aerospace is a space and defense technology company focused on launching and operating space systems. The GSE Combination Welder III will be responsible for the fabrication and welding of production-level assemblies and equipment, collaborating with various engineering teams to support spaceflight initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work according to policy, procedures and specifications.
  • Execute welding processes on aluminum and steel structures and assemblies using various techniques.
  • Determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies to engineering drawings.
  • Read complex piping and instrumentation diagrams for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Install tube, piping, and conduit for fluid system fabrication and modifications.
  • Utilize mechanical and test tools to maintain and calibrate equipment.
  • Conduct safety checks and operate heavy equipment like boom lifts and forklifts.
  • Perform general housekeeping and continuous improvement of the site appearance.
  • Travel to launch sites as required to support the program.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of relevant welding experience.
  • Experience with MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux Core welding.
  • Experience with structural and pipe welding.
  • Good knowledge of heat applications during welding operations.
  • Good knowledge of shop practices including layout, drilling, and grinding.
  • Experience in operating forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
  • Ability to work overtime hours and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and work in tight spaces.

What you'll be running
