Overview

The Pipefitter Apprentice position at Sundt Inc. involves assisting in pipe fitting and fabrication work while adhering to safety standards and industry regulations. Sundt is a 100% employee-owned contractor focused on building long-term prosperity for clients and employee-owners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, layout, and performance of pipe fitting and fabrication work.
• Maintain positive working relationships with crew members.
• Produce high quality work safely and productively.
• Provide feedback to ensure availability of materials, tools, and information.
• Look for opportunities for improvement in tasks and methods.
• Learn and understand safety hazards related to the work.
• Develop effective math skills for basic calculations.
• Learn to safely use work-related tools and equipment.
• Eliminate waste in processes.
• Seek guidance from supervisors when unsure about work or safety practices.

Requirements

• One to two years of experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
• General understanding of pipe fitting craft work.
• NCCER Core Curriculum and/or a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

• Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required.
