Overview

NorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services, Inc. company, is based in Channelview, TX and provides engineering, design, procurement, construction and support services to various industries. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer to join their multidisciplinary team, combining mechanical engineering with project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical and piping design deliverables for energy facilities.
  • Perform engineering analyses, calculations, and design activities for mechanical deliverables.
  • Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards for energy systems.
  • Develop and review specifications, data sheets, and equipment selections.
  • Provide independent technical review of project deliverables for constructability and operability.
  • Develop and maintain standardized engineering procedures and design practices.
  • Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Serve as Project Engineer for assigned projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary deliverables and serve as the primary technical point of contact.
  • Develop and maintain core project documentation.
  • Support procurement through RFQs and technical bid evaluations.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings and deliverables.
  • Respond to RFIs, technical queries, and design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct field assessments and provide engineering support during construction and startup.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas preferred but not required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Adaptable and solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
