Overview

General Dynamics NASSCO is a proud member of the General Dynamics Marine Systems business unit, focusing on ship construction, advanced ship repair, conversion, and maintenance for both commercial and national defense assets. They are currently seeking 5 Structural Welders J1-J4 for night shifts in Norfolk, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
  • Hook up oxygen acetylene torch.
  • Read weld gauges and use hand tools with close supervision.
  • Understand weld symbols.
  • Know standard item 1689 and the guidelines of 5 S.

Requirements

  • Must be able to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges.
  • Ability to carry, lift, walk, climb, pull, crawl, sit, crouch, stand, hear, stoop, kneel, and talk.
