Overview

General Dynamics NASSCO is part of the General Dynamics Marine Systems business unit, specializing in ship construction, repair, conversion, and maintenance for commercial and national defense assets. They are seeking 5 Structural Welders J1-J4 for night shifts in Norfolk, Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Weld using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
  • Hook up oxygen acetylene torch.
  • Read weld gauges and use hand tools with close supervision.
  • Understand weld symbols.
  • Know standard item 1689 and the guidelines of 5S.

Requirements

  • Must be able to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges.
  • Ability to carry, lift, walk, climb, pull, crawl, sit, crouch, stand, hear, stoop, kneel, and talk.

  • Work schedule is night shift from 3pm to 11pm.
  • Location is Norfolk, Virginia.
