Overview

The Welder position involves setting up and operating welding equipment to produce high-quality welds according to specifications. The role requires reading blueprints, inspecting parts, and performing various assembly tasks while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate welding equipment according to drawings.
  • Weld parts using various welding processes including electric arc and gas-shielded arc.
  • Ensure soundness of weld joints and maintain proper dimensions.
  • Read blueprints and handle materials and tools.
  • Inspect parts or completed units using various inspection equipment.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Perform assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
  • Store company supplied tools properly at the end of the day.
  • Assist quality in testing and other efforts as required.
  • Conduct rope winding as necessary.
  • Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Perform all other assigned duties as instructed by supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Sherman & Reilly Weld Certification and AWS Specification D1.1. 94 and D1.3 89.
