Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on various metal components.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components according to blueprints.
  • Layout, measure, and align parts prior to welding using measuring tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders and cutting torches.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with equipment assembly and testing as needed.
  • Setup and adjust welding equipment according to material type.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
  • Perform general duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and tools.
  • Ability to perform basic measurements using tools like calipers.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large components using material handling equipment.
  • Uncompromising attitude toward safety and quality.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Stick work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
