Overview

Calgon Carbon | A Kuraray Company is seeking a Welder II LAV to join their team at the Bloomfield Plant in Bloomfield, NM. This role involves performing various welding tasks while ensuring compliance with safety and company policies, contributing to environmental solutions that impact air and water quality globally.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tack welding and finish welding of piping systems utilizing various welding procedures.
  • Weld small vessels and structural components using SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes.
  • Back-gouge using carbon-air-arc or plasma for full penetration welds.
  • Clean and polish welds to company design specifications.
  • Pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds on both pipe and vessels.
  • Work from drawings/sketches to determine weld size, location, and process.
  • Inspect own work to ensure compliance with drawings and weld procedures.
  • Assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection.
  • Operate fork trucks, jib cranes, and overhead cranes.
  • Assist in other areas of the plant as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; concentration in Welding preferred.
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • 2-3 years of welding experience required.
  • ASME code welding experience preferred.
