Overview

Labor One Staffing is hiring Shipyard Structural Welders in San Diego. The role requires qualifications in specific welding processes and involves working in various conditions within a shipyard environment.

Responsibilities

  • Welds parts in position for fabrication of vessels, tanks or other structural assemblies.
  • Uses carbon electrodes to cut, shape and groove metal.
  • May prepare workplace for welding by cleaning and/or preheating.
  • Examines weld sizes of weld beads.
  • Cleans weld area; sweeps and removes scrap.
  • Other job duties as may be assigned relevant to the trade.

Requirements

  • Must be able to qualify in two gas shielded FCAW welding processes 71T-1 and 811N3 in the three positions.
  • Knowledge of welding characteristics of metal.
  • Must be able to work at heights, confined spaces, and any assigned shift.
  • Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English).
  • Must be able to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings.
  • Shipyard Experience Is Required.
