Overview

The Maintenance Technician I position involves performing diverse mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs at the Itasca, IL facility. The role requires providing one's own tools and includes a sign-on bonus incentive for new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance according to skill level and safety policies.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, and make adjustments.
  • Detect faulty operations and report unusual situations to the maintenance manager.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office to order and schedule parts and jobs.
  • Perform work safely and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completed or working on a 2-year trades degree or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Able to communicate effectively with maintenance and line staff.
  • Attention to detail and legible record-keeping skills.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, and possess creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication, understanding of 3 Phase electrical, and troubleshooting AC & DC drives.
