Overview

Smurfit Westrock is a leader in sustainable packaging, dedicated to creating efficient paper and packaging solutions. They are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for their Bedford Park, IL location to perform maintenance and repair on electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment as required.
  • Install/repair electrical wiring, equipment, and control circuits.
  • Maintain and repair a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis.
  • Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equipment.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or leadership team.
  • Demonstrate strong basic computer skills to utilize the maintenance work order and inventory system.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical background.
  • Desired experience in PLC, print reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Boiler License is a plus; will be expected to obtain if not already acquired.
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70E standards.
