Overview

Nammo Defense Systems Inc. is a defense contractor that manufactures and supports various systems, including shoulder-fired systems and composite solutions. The Composite Technician role involves the development and optimization of composite tube production.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and optimization of the production of composite tubes.
• Fabricates and cures carbon fiber composite tubes.
• Builds laminated assemblies in a filament winding operation and applies composite, plastic, and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds.
• Troubleshoots equipment, monitors process parameters, and adjusts equipment settings as needed to obtain parts that meet customer drawings and internal requirements.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and drawings.
• Sets up spray booths to apply etching and primer compound to tubes.
• Loads/unloads winding machine mandrels into the oven and runs cure cycles.
• Pulls mandrels from composite structure (de-mold).
• Operates compression test machine to verify proof loads.
• Runs daily production quantities.
• Recognizes and reports all operational variances as trained.
• Uses a computer and database to download work instructions.
• Has basic knowledge in using precision measuring tools, i.e., micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and processing of advanced composite materials preferred.
• Ability to interact and communicate as part of a highly functioning team.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with products.

Additional Information

• Monday-Thursday work week working four 10-hour days.
