Overview

Novolex is a leading manufacturer of food, beverage, and specialty packaging, supporting various industries. The Maintenance Technician position in Carrollton, TX involves supporting maintenance functions for production and facility equipment, focusing on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on bag machinery and support equipment.
  • Comply with all safe work procedures, including Lock Out / Tag Out and Confined Space.
  • Repair machine defects found outside of scheduled maintenance.
  • Report any uncorrectable machine defects to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping on the job site.
  • Improve skill level through training or on-the-job experience.
  • Assist fellow mechanics or employees requiring help.
  • Work required overtime to complete repairs of down equipment.
  • Strive to minimize machine downtime.
  • Maintain a 'zero defect' attitude and perform repairs correctly.
  • Ask questions if unfamiliar with repairs or procedures.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Technical Degree preferred, but years of experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maintenance/production environment.
  • Electrical training/experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls preferred.
  • Experience with VFD Drives and PLCs is a plus.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods and process improvement programs required.
  • Previous work experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or blown film industries strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating forklift equipment.
  • Familiar with all OSHA and GMP standards and requirements.

  • Available shift is Wednesday - Saturday from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
  • Compensation includes a starting rate of $28.00 - $32.00 based on experience plus a $1.50 shift premium for nights.
