Overview

This key intermediate level position at Pioneer Frozen Foods involves the operation, maintenance, and repair of ammonia refrigeration and HVAC utility equipment/systems, ensuring adherence to safety procedures while performing machine setup, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service ammonia refrigeration systems and related utility equipment.
• Conduct daily chemical testing of condenser cooling water and log all test results.
• Provide emergency troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during manufacturing.
• Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production and facility equipment.
• Execute established preventative maintenance for ammonia systems and identify new PM activities.
• Comply with plant regulatory programs such as PSM and RMP.
• Perform mechanical skills including troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production line machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance and service.
• Coordinate and expedite repair operations with production supervisors.
• Ensure equipment runs at proper speeds to achieve throughput standards and quality.
• Manage daily work orders and complete required paperwork timely.
• Perform cleaning operations using various methods.
• Use power hand tools safely.
• Conduct equipment inspections and correct any process or safety deviations.
• Write reports as needed, including Daily Communication Reports.
• Follow OSHA, AIB, SQF Standards and recommend improvements for compliance.
• Report unsafe conditions and work-related accidents immediately.
• Evaluate hazards and verify measures for a safe work environment.
• Ensure adherence to GMP, PPE, SOP, HACCP, and OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or technical school education.
• Five years related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment in a Maintenance Position, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
• RETA CARO certification required – Ammonia Operator I, II, III.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret data.
• Reasoning ability to carry out instructions and deal with problems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of plant quality requirements and GMPs.
• Good attendance and work history.
• Strong team mentality.
