Overview

WEG Electric Corp. is seeking a Paint Technician to join their team in Duluth, GA. This role involves preparing and painting industrial gearboxes and motors, ensuring a professional finish and proper handling for shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Mask, clean, and prepare industrial gearboxes and electric motors for painting.
  • Hang product on paint racks or overhead conveyors in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Mix paints and primers following correct procedures for each type, prepare painting guns and equipment.
  • Paint product with a professional looking finish.
  • Stage painted product in an appropriate method to allow proper drying before packing.
  • Assist with packing of product for shipping as required.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years in an industrial or automotive painting environment preferred.
  • Moderate knowledge of industrial liquid paint booth equipment operation.
  • Moderate knowledge of paint preparation procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of forklift operation (on site certification will be required).
  • Basic knowledge of packing and crating of products both corrugated and wooden cartons.
  • Moderate knowledge and ability to use manual and power tools.
  • Moderate understanding of paint booth safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of and ability to follow company safety procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory control procedures preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook preferred.
