Overview

Alum-a-Lift, a company acquired by Piab Group, designs and manufactures ergonomic lifting solutions for global manufacturers. The Mechanical Engineer will execute engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute detailed design of custom ergonomic lifting equipment.
• Create detailed CAD models and drawings, incorporating mechanical, electrical, and ergonomic considerations.
• Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Participate in small capital projects from design through completion.
• Act as a secondary point of contact for customers, providing updates and addressing issues.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure on-time delivery and successful project execution.
• Provide support during machining, fabrication, and assembly.
• Assist with final inspections to ensure compliance with requirements.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience using SolidWorks (or similar) for 3D modelling and drawings.
• Experience using AutoCAD, DraftSight, or similar 2D CAD software.
• Experience executing engineering projects.
• Technical expertise in relevant engineering disciplines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Information

• Walking or standing for long periods of time 4-6 hours.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Occasional travel to customer sites, tradeshows, etc.
• Remote work is offered on a case-by-case basis, typically one remote workday per week after the first anniversary.
