Overview

Bendel Tank and Heat Exchanger, LLC, a division of TransTech Group, LLC, is a leading manufacturer of custom vessels and has been in business for over 50 years. They are seeking a skilled Welder to join their team, specializing in the fabrication and welding of components for tanks and vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Use specialized welding equipment including TIG, MIG, and Plasma cutters.
  • Fit, fabricate, and weld components to tanks and vessels such as nozzles, manways, ladders, handrails, and platforms.
  • Follow and enforce strict shop safety regulations.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Work with team members to ensure top quality and high standards while welding.

Requirements

  • Read blueprints and utilize those to lay out work and build products.
  • Must pass ASME 6G SCH.80 (SA312TP316L) 2" pipe test using GTAW process.
  • Must pass ASME 2G plate (SA36 & SA240-304) test using GMAW process.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work safely from a ladder.
  • Must have TIG & MIG welding experience.
  • Experience with Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel, and High Nickel alloys.

  • Work schedule is 6pm-6am M-Th with opportunity for overtime depending on workload.
  • Current work week is 48 hours, M-F.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
